Description

Originally favored as a weapon of the Cossacks and the Russians, this Russian Kindjal has a Wooden grip with brass fittings and a 19" curved fullered blade. Crafted from fine steel, featuring a gently curved shape with a swept point, which features a fuller along its spine, hilt is remarkably similar to Greco-Roman designs, featuring a small, squared guard adorned with brass plating. The hilt and pommel are all one construction, with a rounded tip at the end, set with a single brass rivet on either side. A matched scabbard, made from wood, wrapped in leather, and decorated with brass fittings at the throat and chape is included.

Historical Period

Khanjali double-edged, single-fullered dagger and a secondary weapon used in Georgia and the Caucasus since the Ancient times. The handle itself is crafted so that it has both a guard and pommel extending out of it as a part of the handle. It shape of the weapon is similar with Ancient Greek Xiphos and Roman Gladius.
